Lee Ann DeLeo

Lee DeLeo's Art combines her scientific background and love of nature.  In 2001 she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in studio art. In 2009 she went back to school, attending the University of Georgia in Athens, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Geology.  She currently resides in Savannah, Georgia, as both Painter and Research Associate at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography.

As an artist her proximity to the ocean and sprawling salt marshes has led to her most recent body of work.  She pulls from her love of water and its ability to constantly move, and subsequently reflect and change color; to produce water dominated landscapes and scenes with a dreamlike quality.

When not busy painting, Lee Ann enjoys teaching yoga and playing with her two labrador retrievers. She received her 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Certificate in 2014 and is currently working towards her 500 hr certification. As a contract teacher she enjoys being able to share her practice with beginners, gym members and serious yoga practitioners alike. She also spends time on the water as a marine geologist and often vistas from the boat later reproduce themselves as original oil paintings.
